Why the combination works
Light energy is absorbed into the hair's pigment, melanin, and heats the hair. Radio frequency, in turn, conducts the heat in a targeted way to the follicle, so the follicle can be treated effectively with a smaller amount of light energy.
The heat weakens the follicle's ability to produce new hair. The hair must, however, be treated in its growth phase, and because only some of the hair is in the growth phase at a time, several treatments are needed.
